Is our data safe with ChatGPT Business and Enterprise?
In the business editions, your company data is not used to train models, and you have central admin over users and settings. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. The real risk sits with private accounts: there, every employee sets their own preferences and as an organisation you have zero visibility into what gets shared.
What is the difference between ChatGPT Business and Enterprise?
Business is aimed at smaller teams: a shared workspace with admin controls and data excluded from model training by default. Enterprise adds scale: SSO and SCIM for user management, extended compliance options, EU data residency available and higher limits. For most SMEs, Business is the starting point; larger organisations with their own IT department often go straight to Enterprise.
What are custom GPTs?
Tailor-made assistants within ChatGPT, with their own instructions and knowledge files, without any programming required. Think of a GPT that drafts proposals in your format, or one that unlocks internal knowledge for customer questions. Within a business workspace you share them safely with exactly the teams that need them.
Is ChatGPT allowed under the GDPR and the AI Act?
Yes, provided you set it up properly: a business edition where data isn't used for training, clear agreements about which (personal) data may go in, and demonstrable AI literacy among your employees — the latter has been mandatory under the AI Act since February 2025. ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot — which fits us?
That mainly depends on your ecosystem. If you work in Google Workspace, Gemini is the obvious candidate; in Microsoft 365, Copilot is the logical choice; ChatGPT is the strong all-rounder that stands apart from your office suite.
