AI that works in your organisation, not just in the demo
The models are good enough. What's missing is the last mile to your data, your systems and your people. Our engineers work in your team to cover that mile: from one chosen process to a solution that runs live and can be handed over.
What is forward deployed engineering?
Forward deployed engineering is a way of working in which our engineers build inside your organisation: in your team, in your systems and with your data. Together we pick one process that matters, build a working solution for it, prove it is reliable and hand it over so your people can run and extend it themselves.
- One process, one measurable goal, agreed in advance
- Built in your environment, with real data and real users
- Live with permissions, monitoring and a named owner
- Transferable: your team can run it without us
The technology is here. The last mile isn't.
A language model can now do a surprising amount: read letters, summarise case files, assess requests, write code. Yet in most organisations the distance between what is possible and what is actually used stays wide. Not because the model falls short, but because it isn't connected to anything: not to the data as it really is, not to the systems where the work happens, not to the way people organise their day.
That last mile isn't a software problem you solve with a licence. It needs someone who sits next to the planner, the estimator or the service desk, sees the exception that comes back every Monday, and builds a solution for it that fits. That is what our engineers come for.
We start from the result you want, pick the process where it shows fastest and do what it takes to get there. Only then do we make it repeatable for the rest of the organisation.
How we work
One team, not a vendor at a distance
Our engineer sits next to your people, knows the exceptions and builds in the environment where the work happens. Integrations, testing and security are part of it from day one.
Start from the outcome
Not from a wish list or a choice of model, but from one process and one measurable goal: shorter lead times, fewer errors, more handled per day. Then we build the shortest path to get there.
Built to run without us
Documentation, handover and a named owner are deliverables with a date. Your team has to be able to understand, adjust and extend it once we are gone.
An engagement in five phases you can follow
Each phase has a clear result and a moment to adjust or stop. Durations are indicative; a first process is usually live within a quarter.
- 01
Explore
We sit down with the people who do the work and pick one process that matters. We record what it costs today, what holds it back and what 'better' looks like in measurable terms.
1–2 weeks - 02
First version
We build the critical path with your data, your systems and your rules. Not in a demo environment, but as something the colleagues who will use it can try for themselves within a few weeks.
2–4 weeks - 03
Prove it
We test on real cases and on the awkward exceptions. Quality, reliability and human review are part of the design from day one, not an afterthought. Only when the agreed benchmark is met do we move on.
2–3 weeks - 04
Go live
The solution takes its place in your day-to-day environment: with permissions, logging, monitoring and one named owner. The team can rely on it and everyone knows who is in charge.
1–2 weeks - 05
Extend
What works, we make repeatable: the same building blocks for the next team or process, the knowledge shared with your people. Where the next step calls for a partner, we arrange it.
ongoing
Proven building blocks, adapted to your situation
We don't start from scratch every time. From earlier engagements we bring patterns, integrations and control mechanisms that we adapt to your processes and systems. Whatever doesn't exist yet, we build.
Process automation
Repetitive work with exceptions, such as order handling or incoming requests, taken care of by AI with clear checkpoints for people.

What is forward deployed engineering?
A way of working in which our engineers don't build at a distance but inside your organisation: in your team, in your systems and with your data. Together we pick one process, build a working solution for it, prove it is reliable and hand it over so your people can run it themselves. What the term means exactly and where it comes from is explained on the forward deployed engineer page.
How is this different from a regular implementation project?
In two things: where we sit and where we stop. We work where the work happens, not from a project room, and we only stop once the solution is live, measured against a benchmark agreed in advance and handed over. A report, a demo or a design is never the end result for us.
Which problems are a good fit?
Processes that matter, recur often and get stuck on manual work, exceptions or scattered knowledge. Think of drafting quotes, handling incoming requests, checking case files or aligning schedules. Less suitable: a first experiment where a tool and an enthusiastic colleague will do, or a need that an off-the-shelf package already covers well.
Do we need technical people of our own?
Not to get started. What we do need is a process owner on your side: someone who knows the work from the inside, can make decisions and is accountable after delivery. Without that person, ownership moves to the vendor, and then you don't have a solution but a subscription.
How do you measure whether it works?
Up front we agree one metric that fits the process: task success rate, lead time, error rate or volumes handled. During the proving phase we measure against it, on real cases and on the awkward exceptions. We only go live once the benchmark is met, and we keep measuring afterwards.
What happens after go-live?
The solution gets a named owner, monitoring and clear agreements on who does what when something deviates. Then we look at which team or process comes next: what works, we make repeatable, so the second time is faster than the first.
What does it cost?
That depends on the scope: a focused first step on one process is very different from a programme across several departments. We always start from a concrete bottleneck and an expected return, so the investment can be tied to a result. Book a call via /en/contact and we'll sketch a realistic first step together.
Choose the process. We'll build the path.
Bring your hardest bottleneck to a 30-minute call. Together we'll see whether this way of working fits and what a first step would be. No pitch, just an honest view.
