For organisations already running on Microsoft 365, Copilot is an obvious choice. It sits in the apps your people use every day — Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams — and works within your existing environment and permissions. That makes the threshold to start low.
Even so, we often see that the licences are in place but the time savings don't materialise. Copilot isn't a button that delivers productivity by itself: without proper setup, workable policy and training, usage stalls with a handful of enthusiasts. Training and adoption are crucial to genuinely get something out of it.

Which Copilot do you mean?
Microsoft uses the name Copilot for several products. These are the three you'll want to keep apart.

Is our data safe with Microsoft 365 Copilot?
Copilot works within your existing M365 environment and respects the permissions already in place: through Copilot, an employee sees nothing they wouldn't otherwise have access to. Microsoft offers the EU Data Boundary for data processing within Europe. The points of attention sit mainly in your own setup: correct access rights and good data hygiene, so Copilot doesn't accidentally surface sensitive information.
Is Copilot the logical choice if we're already on Microsoft 365?
Often, yes. Because Copilot sits in the apps your people already use, the threshold is low and it fits seamlessly into your existing environment. Is Copilot allowed under the GDPR and the AI Act?
Yes, provided you set it up properly: correct access rights, clear agreements about which (personal) data may go in, and demonstrable AI literacy among your employees — the latter has been mandatory under the AI Act since February 2025.
