AI that's powerful and keeps your data on board.
You want to harness the power of AI without handing over sensitive data. We build the secure environment where AI runs inside your own tenant, with EU data location, without training on your data, and with access control, logging and governance in your own hands.
What is AI in your own environment?
AI in your own environment is AI that runs inside your own tenant or cloud environment with EU data location, where your data is not used to train models and you keep access, logging and governance in your own hands. That way you harness AI without giving up control over sensitive data.
- Your own tenant / your own cloud environment
- EU data location
- No training on your data
- Access control, logging and governance under your own management
Why data safety is the starting point
Most organisations are happy to get started with AI, but hesitate as soon as data comes up. Rightly so: throw your customer files, contracts or medical data into a free public service and you lose your grip on where that data ends up and what happens to it. That's why a responsible AI project doesn't start with the model, but with the environment it runs in.
That environment is a choice. AI can run inside your own tenant or cloud environment, with an EU data location and business guarantees that your input trains no models. We help you make those hosting choices: which form fits your sensitivity, your budget and your management capacity, and which models fit safely within it.
Data safety doesn't stand apart from the law. The GDPR and the EU AI Act ask precisely for data location, access control, logging and demonstrable governance. A well-configured own environment is therefore not only safer, but also makes you demonstrably compliant towards regulators, clients and tenders.
This service is about the foundation, not the application. Want a dedicated, shielded AI assistant or private LLM for your people? That's Private AI. AI in your own environment is the secure environment in which such an application runs. The links below take you to the related services; as forward deployed engineers we build them in coherence, not as separate blocks.
The choices behind a secure AI environment
Foundation
Your own tenant / your own cloud environment
AI runs inside your own environment instead of a shared public service. You decide who has access and where the boundaries lie.
Data
EU data location
Your data and its processing stay within the European Union. No unwanted transfer to jurisdictions with different rules.
Models
No training on your data
Contractually and technically safeguarded: what your people enter is not used to train the vendor's models.
Control
Access control & logging
Roles, permissions and full logging in your own hands. You see who uses what and can demonstrate it to regulators and clients.
What you get from us
Environment & hosting design
A substantiated design of your AI environment: own tenant or cloud, EU region and the models that safely fit within your requirements.
Data safety & governance framework
Clear agreements on data location, access, roles and logging. Not a thick report, but working governance that fits how you work.
EU-compliant set-up
A configured environment with EU data location, encryption and the guarantee that your data trains no models. Aligned with GDPR and the AI Act.
Monitoring & assurance
Monitoring of usage and security, plus a handover that keeps your environment secure while usage and models change.
How do we approach it?
From data and risk scan to a secure, assured AI environment.
-
Data & risk scan
1 weekWe map out which data is at play, how sensitive it is and which requirements (GDPR, sector rules, client contracts) apply to it.
-
Hosting & architecture choice
1-2 weeksBased on your requirements we choose the hosting form: own tenant, EU region and the models that fit. We weigh manageability, cost and security against each other.
-
Secure set-up
2-4 weeksWe set up the environment: EU data location, encryption, network boundaries and the guarantee that your data trains no models.
-
Access & governance
1-2 weeksWe configure roles, permissions and usage policy, with logging that makes it demonstrable who does what. Governance that fits how you work.
-
Monitoring & assurance
ongoingWe set up monitoring and hand over, so your environment stays secure as usage and models change. Not a one-off delivery.
Who is this for?
For organisations with sensitive data
Protecting customer and personal data
Do you work with customer files, medical or financial data? Then that data shouldn't simply pass through a public AI service. In your own environment you keep a grip on where the data lives and who can access it.
For regulated sectors
Meeting sector rules
Healthcare, finance, government and legal services face strict requirements on data processing. A dedicated, EU-compliant AI environment makes AI use possible without breaching those requirements.
For strict compliance requirements
Demonstrably in control
Buyers increasingly ask about data location, access control and logging in tenders. With your own environment you deliver that proof without having to arrange exceptions every time.
This service lays the foundation; we build the application on top of it. Read how we set up a shielded assistant with Private AI, how we structurally set up AI governance, and how this fits with the EU AI Act.

Where does my data live?
In an AI environment under your own control, you decide the data location yourself. We set the environment up with EU data location by default: your data and its processing stay within the European Union. For some organisations we go further and keep data within the Netherlands or even within your own infrastructure.
Is my data used to train models?
No. In a well-configured own environment it is contractually and technically safeguarded that what your people enter is not used to train the vendor's models. That is precisely one of the reasons not to simply use AI via a free public service.
What is the difference with Private AI?
They belong together. Private AI is about the application: your own, shielded AI assistant or private LLM that your people work with. AI in your own environment is about the foundation beneath it: the secure, EU-compliant environment with data location, access control and logging in which that application runs. Mainly want the application? Read more about Private AI.
How does this fit with GDPR/AI Act?
Data security and governance are exactly what the GDPR and the EU AI Act ask of you. An own environment with EU data location, access control and logging demonstrates that you are in control. We align the set-up with your obligations and record the choices in a file.
Can this work with the models we already use?
Often yes. The major providers offer business variants that run inside your own tenant and with EU data location, without training on your data. Where that isn't enough, we look at open models you host entirely yourself. We choose based on your requirements, not on a preferred vendor.
